Isaac Smith - Artist - Liberty Lake Project... a work in Stained Glass

I was approached by the client with a privacy problem. They have two bedroom and two bathroom windows that look directly at their neighbor's house. Their neighbors can see directly into these private rooms from their balcony. While the clients had blinds installed, that solution proved less than satisfactory because they darkened the room. They decided that the ideal solution would be to have both privacy and light… thus, stained glass.

I began by looking at the bedroom and bathroom to see what kind of design would work in each space and how each should flow.

The flow of the bedroom moved from left to right, so I created a design that is more open to the right. Since there were already leaf shapes in some of the bedroom décor, I carried that theme into the windows. I used clear textured glass to give privacy and allow light to come in, hand beveled glass to give dimension, light play, and color to the highlights.
